I spent a long time searching for a good digital picture frame solution, and the more I looked, the less appealing the options became. Physical digital picture frames felt like an unnecessary expense and yet another device to buy, set up, and eventually replace, when I already owned a perfectly good screen sitting right in my living room: my Apple TV. What I actually wanted was a way to turn photos I already had into a proper framed slideshow, without spending money on new hardware. So I built Digital Picture Frame Maker, an Apple Shortcut that takes photos straight from my library, overlays a picture frame border, and populates an album I can run directly as my Apple TV screensaver, solving the exact problem I couldn't find a good answer to anywhere else.
